Yeezy Boost 350 'Oxford Tan' (On Feet)

At the end of last year Kanye West and Adidas' extremely hyped 'Yeezy Boost 350' sneaker was back in the 'Oxford Tan' colour way. The 350's are without doubt one of my favourite sneakers due to their great silhouette and comfort. Find out how I managed to grab a pair, my thoughts on the hype and what I like to style them with...

As mentioned before Adidas' Ultra Boost model is my go-to, everyday sneaker; for me the 350 is effectively a more fashion forward rendition of the Ultra Boost: a low top runner featuring Adidas' same 'Primeknit' and 'Boost' technologies, however slightly more for the street and less for the track. I paid resell for the 'Turtle Dove's' however have got lucky since with the 'Moonrock's' and these 'Oxford Tan's'. As for future releases of the 350's, if I find it convenient, of course I will try to pick up a pair as they are a great trainer. However, I definitely wont be paying over retail as I feel a sense of guilt to be paying luxury prices for a not so luxury shoe, purely due to hype and Kanye's association.
Hype aside, since seeing Kanye rocking the Tan 350's they were definitely the pair that I wanted the most. Come release date it was the same old: raffles, limited stock and Yeezy chaos. I most definitely wasn't going to camp for 24 hours (if not longer) in the cold during the festive period; I was unsuccessful with raffles and had wasted a morning trying every online store. Unexpectedly, on the evening of the release I received a notification on Twitter that Adidas had restocked, and fortunately, the purchase went straight through and the trainers were mine! In person, the new seasonal Tan colourway sadly wasn't all that I had hoped for. Despite them being a great shoe, the colour is very strange, in some light the tonal colourway looks pink when I would have hoped for a more vivid khaki colour. None the less, I will always welcome more 350's into my collection as previously mentioned; I love the shoe, no matter the colour, and the more pairs in my rotation inevitably means the less wear they get, therefore keeping them box fresh.

I consider the Oxford Tan's to be a statement piece, when styling them I try not to deter away from that. I've gone for a simple all black outfit. I'm rocking my new Our Legacy sweatshirt which I can't stop wearing: for me it is the perfect fit; featuring a slight dropped shoulder and draped heavy Portuguese cotton it reminds me of sweat jersey's featured in Haider Ackermann's first season collection, that resulted in his critical fanfare. I'm wearing my staple black jeans, my favourite black t-shirt, and my go-to cold weather jacket that's Coyote fur subtly picks up tan coloured hues that work nicely with the statement sneakers.

I hope you all managed to grab a pair, and fingers crossed we see more quantities of Yeezy 350's in future releases.
