Yeezy Boost 350 by Kanye West

Love him or hate him, Kanye West is undeniably the most influential man in sneaker culture today; designing shoes for Bape, Giuseppe Zanotti, Louis Vuitton, Nike and now with the release of the second trainer silhouette from his current collaboration with adidas. The Yeezy Boost 350 (Turtle Dove); better late than never... I've got the shoe and my new camera so thought I'd share some detailed shots that I've taken...

We first caught a glimpse of this trainer during the 'Yeezy Season 1' fashion show in New York earlier this year along with the release of the 350 boost's big brother: The Yeezy Boost 750 (re-cap). This is the first ever shoe that Kanye has designed that I've managed to get my hands on (I've tried for every release since the first Nike Air Yeezy and have never had any luck). However, Kanye made it clear that the shoes produced from his collaboration with Adidas would not be as limited as his previous collaborations and that everyone would be able to own a Yeezy. When the Yeezy 750 Boost released earlier this year it became evident that this statement from Kanye, could not be further from the truth! I entered 5 raffles (to win a chance to buy), tried 5 different online stores. No luck, because these shoes were extremely limited!!! Surprise, surprise, following the release of the 350 boosts; I can safely say that these were just as limited and luck wasn't on my side… again. After much thought, frustration and being Yeezy-less, I did cave in and buy a pair for re-sell. In all honesty, I did feel genuine guilt for spending so much more than I should, but due to its lower RRP it meant that the re-sell wasn't as high as previous Yeezy's, making them somewhat in my reach. Although I am ashamed of paying so much more than I could and should have; the 350 Boost was a Yeezy I just really wanted (felt like I absolutely needed) to have! It’s a low top, lightweight runner, which was subtle and suited my style more than any other Yeezy silhouettes.

The upper is made up of a single piece of 'Primeknit' knitted fabric, whilst the sole is adidas' ultra cosy 'Boost' technology. In my opinion, the shoe is a much more fashion forward version of adidas' contemporary runner the 'Ultra Boost' which I hadn't taken off of my feet prior to receiving my Yeezy's, I think they have now been replaced.

I hope if you wanted the shoe you managed to get a pair, and also hope you purchased to wear and not to make a profit… For those who were as unlucky as me, let me know if you are contemplating the re-sell price? or if like me you already caved!

  1. Cool shoes, I wouldn't worry about spending too much, if you want something you are entitled to treat yourself every now and again - that is definitely what I tell myself haha!

I have a new outfit post up on the blog, would love to know your thoughts:
